Charlie Whitehurst entered Friday night’s game before A.J. Feeley.
It’s quite possible the rookie has passed Feeley on the depth chart. His dynasty league value is limited because Philip Rivers is so young.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll insisted Sunday night that he didn’t consider benching Tarvaris Jackson in Week 2.
Jackson has completed one pass for a gain longer than 17 yards on the season. He’s averaging 5.4 yards-per-attempt through two games. “It had nothing to do with the quarterback spot,” Carroll said of Seattle’s second straight loss. “I don’t feel like that at all. We’ll look at everything, but I don’t feel like that at all.” They must really not like Charlie Whitehurst.

Tarvaris Jackson left Sunday’s game against the Giants in the third quarter with a right shoulder injury.
Jackson is questionable to return, but it doesn’t look good as he was in serious pain following an 11-yard scramble. Trainers were looking under his pads at his throwing shoulder and then took him to the locker room. Charlie Whitehurst has come on. Jackson was 15-of-22 for 166 yards with one touchdown and one interception before leaving.
  • FA Quarterback
In relief of Tarvaris Jackson (shoulder), Charlie Whitehurst completed 11-of-19 passes for 149 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday’s win over the Giants.
The Seahawks didn’t miss a beat when Whitehurst came on in the third quarter. They still ran a hurry-up offense and Whitehurst ended up leading a game-winning touchdown drive deep in the fourth quarter. The extent of Jackson’s shoulder injury is unknown, but he’ll have the bye week to heal up. As long as Jackson didn’t suffer a separation, Whitehurst will return to a reserve role.

Tarvaris Jackson suffered a strained pectoral in Sunday’s win over the Giants.
This sounds much less serious than the throwing-side shoulder injury that was originally reported. It’s certainly conceivable that Jackson will be ready to resume his starting role when the Seahawks come out of their bye in Week 7. He was sharp before leaving today, completing 15-of-22 passes for 166 yards with a touchdown in just over a half of action.

Charlie Whitehurst will run the first-team offense during the Seahawks’ Week 6 bye, while Tarvaris Jackson recovers from a “high-grade” strain of the pectoral near his right (throwing) arm.
Jackson won’t practice this week, and coach Pete Carroll gave him no timetable to return. The bye has come at a good time for Jackson. The Seahawks are committed to him over Whitehurst, and will give T-Jack every opportunity to re-seize his starting job if he’s healthy. Seattle will visit Cleveland in Week 7.
  • FA Quarterback
The Everett Herald doesn’t expect a quarterback controversy to ensue in Seattle after Charlie Whitehurst’s solid Week 5 effort off the bench.
Whitehurst did well to manage the game, avoiding turnovers and “leading” his team to a win. Early indications are that Tarvaris Jackson’s pectoral injury is just a strain, however, and he figures to regain his starting job after the Week 6 bye. Whitehurst finished Week 5 with 11-of-19 completions for 149 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions against the Giants.

Early indications are that Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) will be fine, a source tells ProFootballTalk.com.
After the game, coach Pete Carroll merely said that Jackson will have an MRI on his pectoral muscle when the team returns to Seattle. It’s concerning that Jackson wasn’t able to return to the game, but the Seahawks do have a bye in Week 6. If Tarvaris just has a Grade 1 strain, he’s a good bet to start ahead of Charlie Whitehurst in Week 7.
  • FA Quarterback
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) is “way ahead” of schedule in his rehab.
Carroll is one of the more optimistic guys on the planet, so we’ll take his words with a grain of salt. Even he admitted that they are preparing Charlie Whitehurst to be the starter Sunday. Jackson did not practice during the bye week.
  • FA Quarterback
Coach Pete Carroll said he is in the process of getting Charlie Whitehurst ready to play.
Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) hasn’t been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Browns, but he looks like a long shot. Whitehurst played well in a relief role during Week 5, completing 11-of-19 passes for 149 yards with a touchdown in less than one half of work against the Giants. He’d be on the low-end QB2 radar with Cleveland expected to be without top corner Joe Haden (knee) again.
