Free agent wide receiver Aaron Dobson has worked out for the 49ers and Chargers this week.
Dobson was cut by the Patriots earlier this month. A second-round pick in 2013, he played in just 24 games over three seasons in New England, in part due to injury issues.
The Chargers worked Dobson out after their practice Wednesday. Tuesday, they worked out two smaller receivers, Chris Givens and Griff Whalen.
The Chargers are likely to go with just four wide receivers -- Travis Benjamin, Dontrelle Inman, Tyrell Williams and Isaiah Burse -- for this week’s game vs. the Jaguars after losing Keenan Allen for the season to a torn ACL last weekend.
Dobson, 25, has 53 career receptions and had four touchdown catches as a rookie.
