PFT’s NFL MVP won’t take part in Sunday’s Pro Bowl.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has withdrawn from the NFL’s all-star game with an injury and will be replaced by Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. The Bengals announced Dalton’s addition to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Dalton will be making his second Pro Bowl appearance. Though Dalton set a career-high in completion percentage (64.2) and again helped lead Cincinnati to the posteason, he threw just two more touchdowns than interceptions (19-17). Also, the Bengals fell in the first round of the playoffs for the fourth time in as many of his postseason starts.

Rodgers presumably is missing the Pro Bowl because of the calf injury that bothered him in the final four games of Green Bay’s season.

With Rodgers withdrawing, four of the original six quarterbacks named to the Pro Bowl will not play in the game. Only the Colts’ Andrew Luck and the Cowboys’ Tony Romo remain from the roster named in December.
