NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy recently noted on his Twitter page that he knows he’s ready for football season to begin because some of the lawn chairs in Times Square looked “like they were set up in a 4-3 defense.” Another sign of being ready for some football is hearing the news that they’ll soon be filming the Are You Ready For Some Football? video that launches the weekly Monday Night Football telecast on ESPN. This year, the man who once allegedly said, “I’m Hank Williams, Jr. Bitch!” is back again, and he’ll be in Nashville on Monday and Tuesday for the event. (Gloria Estefan will join him for the first day -- not exactly a “hey, your peanut butter is on my chocolate” combination.) Per the Tennessean, they’re also looking for extras. A total of 750 of them. On Monday, an interior party scene will be shot at the Parthenon in Centennial Park from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. 250 extras are needed. On Tuesday, 500 extras will be used at the Parthenon for an external party scene. Filming runs from 7:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. The final product will be used for all 17 Monday Night Football games. For those interested in participating, take note of the dress code. Club/concert attire is required (“collard shirts” only?) or an NFL jersey with pants (as opposed to the unofficial football blogger uniform of an NFL jersey without pants).
