Bernard Pollard not happy to talk about “pretty boy” Brady

T. Brady B. Pollard

Bernard Pollard has started 72 games in his NFL career. But to many people, he’s just the dude that hit Tom Brady in 2008, causing a torn ACL.

Now that he’s facing Brady as a member of the Ravens, Pollard is getting asked about the play.

“It just so happened to be Tom Brady and everybody made a big deal about it,” Pollard said via the Baltimore Sun.

It’s safe to say he didn’t appreciate the line of questioning about whether he will always be tied to Brady.

“That’s the pretty boy. That’s the man of the NFL. That’s Mr. Do-It-All,” Pollard said. “So everybody is going to hold that against me but I don’t care. I don’t play for men. I don’t play for no woman.

“I play because I’m given the gift to play this game. And in this sport, you can’t say, ‘Go out there and hit somebody full speed with equipment and everything else on,’ and say, ‘Be careful.’”

Pollard is a big-time hitter that can be victimized when he’s in coverage. Brady certainly knows that. Perhaps Brady and Pollard will be tied historically even more after Sunday.
