Left tackle Branden Albert made it back from rehabbing his torn ACL in time to play for the Dolphins in their first two games this season, but he wasn’t able to finish the second game.

Albert left Sunday’s loss to the Jaguars with a hamstring injury near the end of the first half. Albert didn’t return to the game, leaving Jason Fox to take over his position. From that point, the game didn’t go well for the Dolphins blockers as they picked up several penalties, never got going in the run game and allowed two sacks of Ryan Tannehill.

Fox was beaten for one of them by former teammate Jared Odrick in the fourth quarter and it almost led to points for the Jaguars when Tannehill fumbled into the end zone. Fox was able to get the ball back into play, but lamented allowing the sack in the first place.

“He bull-rushed me a couple of times in a row, and I thought he was going to do it to me again,” Fox said, via the Miami Herald. “I decided to be a little more aggressive with him. It was just a bad decision on my part.”

There’s no word on the severity of Albert’s injury or his expected recovery timeline, but losing him for any significant period of time would be a blow as the Dolphins try to rebound from Sunday’s loss.
