The Broncos have provided a brief update on cornerback Aqib Talib’s condition on Sunday night.

The team confirmed earlier in the day that Talib had been shot in the leg, reportedly during a fight at a club in Dallas early Sunday morning. In a statement, the team confirmed Talib remains in the hospital and said that Talib is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.

“We are in communication with Aqib Talib, who remains at a Dallas hospital for observation as he recovers from a gunshot wound suffered to his lower right leg on Sunday. He is expected to be released from the hospital soon, and we are glad he is OK and will make a full recovery. Our organization has been in touch with the NFL on this matter, and we will provide additional updates as appropriate.”

Talib isn’t expected to join the Broncos on Monday’s trip to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl title. If there’s any other fallout from the shooting, it will likely come after more details about what happened to land Talib in the hospital come to light.
