In three years with the Chiefs Jamaal Charles has emerged as one of the best running backs in football, and now he’s being rewarded.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Chiefs and Charles reached an agreement on a five-year, $32.5 million deal that includes $13 million guaranteed.
Although he’s had to split carries with Thomas Jones this season, Charles already has 1,137 yards, third best in the NFL, and a league-leading average of 6.2 yards a carry.
In his three-year career, Charles has 439 carries for 2,614 yards, a 6.0-yard average.
