San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick had an outstanding game in defeat at Super Bowl XLVII, with 302 passing yards and 62 rushing yards. But after the game, Kaepernick put the loss on his own shoulders.

I feel like I made too many mistakes for us to win,” Kaepernick said, via CSNBayArea.com.

Kaepernick appeared to throw the ball too high on his lone interception, although receiver Randy Moss didn’t give him much help by never even making an effort to catch the ball. Kaepernick appeared to be particularly down about that throw, as well as a lost fumble by LaMichael James that ended another 49ers first-half drive.

“Things weren’t working in the first half,” Kaepernick said. “We just didn’t finish our drives. We turned the ball over a couple times. That was the difference in the game.”

Overall, Kaepernick thought the loss was more about what the 49ers didn’t do than what the Ravens did.

“We stopped ourselves,” Kaepernick said.

The 25-year-old Kaepernick was down after the game, but he’s one of the most talented young quarterbacks in the NFL. There’s a good chance that he’ll be back to the Super Bowl.
