Cris Carter: Randy Moss “full of regret” he’s not a Patriot

In the weeks since Randy Moss was traded out of New England, the Patriots have become the best team in the league while Moss has become irrelevant. Moss’s old teammate and mentor says Moss now wishes he could go back.

Cris Carter said on WEEI that Moss is “full of regret” for forcing his way out of New England. Moss’s trade to the Vikings was preceded by grousing about his contract and complaining about the play calling.

Now Moss is getting fewer passes thrown to him than ever before, and he’s certain to make less money in 2011 than he would have if he had stayed in New England and been a good teammate. Carter says game tape showing Moss loafing on the field is going to make teams shy away from him in free agency.

“Bad effort. Bad video,” Carter said. “That’s how we evaluate talent in the NFL, we watch the video. And we analyze it on what we see.”

And what we’ve seen this year is Moss failing to produce, for three different teams.
