DeAngelo Hall was at risk of getting cut this month, but he agreed to restructure his deal to stick around in Washington.
Field Yates of ESPN.com reports that Hall now has a non-guaranteed base salary for the 2015 season. Under his old deal, $1 million of Hall’s $4 million salary would have been guaranteed as of February 15, but his new deal removes that guarantee.
In other words, Hall has to actually make Washington’s roster in order to get the money. If he gets cut before the start of the regular season, Washington is not on the hook.
The 31-year-old Hall signed a four-year contract last year and then played in only three games before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury.
