Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams was taken to the locker room by cart after suffering an injury early in the second quarter.
Williams was tackled by Browns defensive lineman John Hughes and immediately grabbed at his lower right leg. Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin came on to the field with members of the training staff to check on Williams.
Williams, 32, has been an important and productive player for the Steelers offense this season. The drive on which he was injured ended in a missed field goal; the Steelers lead the Browns, 7-3.
Fitzgerald Toussaint replaced Williams. The team announced Williams is questionable return due to an ankle injury.
The Steelers get in the playoffs with a win and a Jets loss in Buffalo.
