Vikings coach Brad Childress is one of four NFL coaches in Afghanistan today for a USO tour, and he’s hearing the same question there that he hears in Minnesota: Is Brett Favre coming back?
Childress told Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune he’s already heard that question “thousands and thousands” of times.
“You know what? That’s part of my night job,” Childress says he tells the soldiers who ask him about Favre. “I’m going to do that when I get home.”
For Childress, the trip has been especially special because he got to see his son, a Marine serving in Afghanistan.
“It was emotional as hell,” Childress said. “It was just a great feeling holding him in my arms.”
