The Giants made a huge splash to fix their special teams, and weaken a divisional opponent in the process.

According to Kimberley Martin of Newsday, the Giants have signed Cowboys special teams ace Dwayne Harris to a five-year, $17.5 million deal, which includes $7.1 million in guarantees.

While that’s not the biggest money you’ll see today as free agency opens, it’s a big deal for a special teamer.

Harris is an exceptional return man (career averages of 26.5 yards on kickoffs and 11.1 on punts), but he’s also a core special teams player who excels in coverage.
