We now have some clarity on the matter of the Bengals’ starting tailback.
Rookie Jeremy Hill will get the start Sunday at Cleveland, backfield mate Giovani Bernard said Thursday, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
On Wednesday, offensive coordinator Hue Jackson said the club would be giving either Hill or Bernard of the bulk of the carries, but he didn’t name a featured back.
The 22-year-old Hill leads the Bengals in carries (152), yards (729) and rushing touchdowns (six).
With Hill looking to be the starter, Bernard could take a change-of-pace role for Cincinnati, which leads the AFC North at 8-4-1.
