Chargers rookie linebacker Jatavis Brown won’t need surgery after injuring his knee but will miss some time, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported Monday.

The report said Brown will likely miss “a week or two,” meaning he’ll certainly miss this week’s game vs. the Titans.

Brown, a fifth-round pick out of Akron, has become a productive player on the Chargers’ defense. His absence, even for just a short period, could require the Chargers to make a move because they were already thin at inside linebacker due to injury.

Brown has played in all eight games, starting five. He has three sacks and two forced fumbles.
