The Jets signed former Giants punter Steve Weatherford last week as injury cover.
It was short-term cover.
The Jets announced that Weatherford had been released, ending a four-day stint with the team.
Regular punter Ryan Quigley missed last week’s game against the Patriots with a leg infection, and he’s apparently ready to come back now, which made the veteran Weatherford expendable.
