On Monday night, Jets wide receiver Greg Salas scored his first NFL regular-season touchdown.
However, the play capped his season.
The Jets have placed Salas on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, the team said Thursday.
To replace Salas, the Jets called up wideout Chris Owusu from the practice squad.
On his first snap in Monday night’s loss to the Dolphins, Salas took a reverse and scored from 20 yards out, giving the Jets a 7-0 first-quarter lead. However, it would be his last snap of the game — and of the year, as it turned out.
The 26-year-old Salas appeared in 10 games for New York this season, catching eight passes for 167 yards. He was a 2011 fourth-round pick of St. Louis.
Owusu, 24, was on the Jets’ active roster for the Week Eight loss to Buffalo, catching one pass. He played three games with the Buccaneers earlier this season, hauling in a TD pass in the season-opener vs. Carolina
