Earlier this week, Jim Bob Cooter became the offensive coordinator of the Lions. At some point either before or after the move, records of a pair of arrests disappeared.

Robert Allen of the Detroit Free Press reports that documents relating to a pair of Knoxville, Tennessee arrests of Cooter can no longer be found in the files of the Knoxville police department.

“What I may have said with regard to an incident years ago does not mean that I can confirm that record again,” Knoxville police spokesman Darrell DeBusk told the Free Press. “There’s no record. There’s nothing.”

Actually, there’s something -- a booking photo from 2009. Beyond that, there’s nothing.

Cooter, based on media reports published at the time, was arrested for DUI in 2006. In 2009, he was charged with aggravated burglary after a woman claimed “climbed through an apartment window, stripped down to his underwear and got into bed with her.”

A spokesperson for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office guesses that the records were expunged. However, there’s not even a record of the expungement.
