Jonathan Taylor snags AFC offensive player of the week

Jonathan Taylor held onto the ball in Week 16 and the Colts running back now has an award to hold onto as well.

Taylor has been named the AFC offensive player of the week after running for three touchdowns in Indy’s 38-30 win over the Titans. The victory kept the Colts alive in the playoff race for at least one more week.

The big game came a week after Taylor foolishly let go of the football before entering the end zone at the end of a long run against the Broncos. The miscue helped pave the way to a Denver win and Taylor vowed to never make a similar mistake again.

Against the Titans, Taylor ran 29 times for 218 yards and never fumbled the ball. It was the second-most yards he’s picked up in a game during his career and it is the third time he’s been named the conference’s top offensive player.
