Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor has realized that his holdout isn’t working.

After skipping all of training camp, the preseason and the first two regular-season games without the Seahawks giving him the money he wants, Chancellor now says he will return to Seattle. Here’s what Chancellor texted Stephen A. Smith, as relayed by Adam Schefter:

“Ima go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren’t. God forgives all, why can’t i? Time to help us get back to the big dance . I can address business after the season. Me and Marshawn started a mission 2 years ago. I can’t let my Dawg down....Real talk.”

It’s unclear what Chancellor thinks there is to “forgive” the Seahawks for, as he’s the one who decided to hold out while he still had three years left on his contract. But now he’s coming back, and his return should make the Seahawks’ defense a lot better.
