Kayvon Webster to have surgery on injured thumb

Denver Broncos v New England Patriots

during a game at Gillette Stadium on November 24, 2013 in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

Denver Broncos cornerback Kayvon Webster will require surgery to repair an injured thumb suffered during Thursday night’s loss to the San Diego Chargers.

According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, Webster will have surgery on Friday.

The Broncos don’t believe the injury is season-ending and believe he could just miss next week’s game against the Houston Texans.

Webster has been playing in place of starting cornerback Champ Bailey, who has missed 11 of the Broncos 14 games this season. Webster has 41 tackles, 10 passes defensed, an interception and a forced fumble this season.
