Kiko Alonso had some “bad blood” toward “ignorant” Kaepernick

The Miami Dolphins won their sixth straight game by beating the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Armando Salguero explains how the team has overcome a 1-4 start and describes his thoughts on Fidel Castro.

Colin Kaepernick got rough treatment from Kiko Alonso during the 49ers’ loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. The Miami linebacker intercepted Kaepernick and was in on the game-ending tackle as Kaepernick tried to run to the end zone on the final play. Afterward, Alonso indicated that he has some personal animosity toward Kaepernick.

Alonso, whose father is a Cuban exile, was put off by what he called “ignorant” comments from Kaepernick about Fidel Castro.

“I do have feelings about it. So there was some bad blood there for me with Kaepernick,” Alonso told Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

Alonso’s father said of Kaepernick, “He doesn’t know about the suffering the Cuban people have had. He doesn’t have a clue.”

Kiko then added, “He’s ignorant.”

Alonso didn’t say anything to Kaepernick about it on the field, but he did try to teach him a lesson.
