KURT STILL HOLDS THE CARDS IN ARIZONA

Despite a six-turnover performance (per NFL.com it was seven) on Sunday from quarterback Kurt Warner, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt says that Warner will remain the starter. Whisenhunt also said that he didn’t consider yanking Warner for Matt Leinart despite the 34-0 hole the Cardinals dug for themselves. “I didn’t think we did the job offensively, especially in protection, in the first half, so that’s the reason we stayed with Kurt,” Whisenhunt said. The Cardinals started 2-0, making Whisenhunt look like a genius for benching Leinart and going with Warner. Two games later, the Cardinals have slid to 2-2. They host Buffalo next, then Dallas. The Bills and the Cowboys are a combined 7-1. They’re tied for the lead in the NFC West with the 49ers. Both teams are 2-2.
