Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins left camp for a follow-up visit with Dr. James Andrews Monday, and the news apparently wasn’t as good as the team was hoping.

A team official told Carlos Mendez of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Jenkins was not cleared to practice.

Andrews did the shoulder surgery on Jenkins, a procedure which was termed “complicated” by coach Jason Garrett.

The Cowboys were hoping to get Jenkins back on the field at some point in camp, in hopes of putting him on the field for the final preseason game.

They’ve said they’re not looking to trade him, but even if they were, his physical condition is keeping them from even considering it at the moment.
