As Dolphins receiver Mike Wallace sat out practice today, the team was mum about the reason. But now Wallace has revealed that it’s the result of a minor groin injury.

Wallace confirmed to the Miami Herald that his groin injury is the reason he was held out of practice today, but Wallace said he’s hoping to play in Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game.

It feels pretty good,” Wallace said. “I feel like it’s getting there.”

If Wallace’s groin is anything less than 100 percent healthy, the Dolphins will likely hold him out on Sunday: There’s no reason to risk aggravating an injury in a preseason game. But it’s good news that Wallace thinks he can play, if the team will let him.
