Needing some depth at wide receiver, the Panthers brought back one of their own Saturday.
The team announced they promoted Brenton Bersin from the practice squad to the active roster, waiving tight end Brandon Williams to create the spot.
Bersin played in 15 games for the Panthers last season, but was released in final cuts this year.
The Panthers needed some help there, with veteran Jerricho Cotchery out this week with a high ankle sprain.
They also lost leading receiver Kelvin Benjamin and Stephen Hill to torn ACLs in training camp, and are thin behind starter Philly Brown and Ted Ginn.
