The Panthers needed a roster spot after signing cornerback Javien Howard earlier today, and cut an offensive lineman to make room.
The team announced that guard Brendan Mahon was waived to create the roster spot.
An undrafted free agent from Penn State, Mahon made the opening week roster last year, and played in two games.
He went on injured reserve late in the season because of a concussion.
