Earlier this week, word surfaced of Eagles quarterback Mike Vick hosting a Super Bowl party. Then came the denial that Vick will be hosting a party, followed by an explanation from Commissioner Roger Goodell supporting Vick’s position.

“He has said on numerous occasions people have been using his name about being involved in some type of party and he had no intention of participating in that,” Goodell said during his annual pre-Super Bowl press conference.

Damien Butler, who organized the Vick party, says that Vick was aware of the event and had planned to attend, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Butler also said that TMZ’s report regarding the high degree of security at the party had been embellished.

It also sounds as if Vick’s denial of any plans to host a Super Bowl party was embellished, at best, unless Damien Butler is doing something far more than embellishing.
