The Broncos kicked the tires on draft prospects who grew up or played college football in the greater Denver area on Tuesday, but the presence of those local products will likely be overshadowed by another visitor to the team’s facility.
According to multiple reports, Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch was also in for a visit as the Broncos continue doing their homework on this year’s draftable quarterbacks. Dak Prescott of Mississippi State visited last week.
The Broncos currently have Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian on the depth chart and chatter about a trade with the 49ers for Colin Kaepernick has cooled in recent days. It could pick up and they could explore other trade options, although any other moves may wait until the team goes through the draft.
Lynch is usually listed as the third quarterback in this year’s draft, behind Carson Wentz and Jared Goff, and, assuming he becomes the apple of their eye, that could mean the Broncos would have to make a move up the order to ensure they’re able to pick him.
