Ralph Wilson hopes to attend home opener

It’s not yet known specifically when the Bills will open their 2013 home schedule. Whenever that happens, the team’s owner hopes to be there.

Mary Wilson tells the Buffalo News that her husband, Ralph, wants to be present for the first game of the year, after missing all of the 2012 season.

He’s doing really well,” Mary Wilson told Jerry Sullivan of the Buffalo News. “He’s great. Today is Friday, so he’s going to work out with his trainer. Our goal is Opening Day. Ralph wants to make the home opener.”

The 94-year-old owner last attended a game in November 2011. The Hall of Famer founded the team in 1960 as part of the AFL’s launch.

We should all be lucky enough to make it to 94, and to still be involved with businesses that we started more than 50 years previously.

So we extend our best wishes to Mr. Wilson, and we hope he’ll be able to enjoy a win by the Bills, whenever they play their first home game of 2013.
