Six of the players in attendance at the NFL draft are in the awkward position of spending another day at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, rather than heading out to visit their new teams on Friday.

Alabama safety Landon Collins, Nebraska pass rusher Randy Gregory, Mississippi State linebacker Benardrick McKinney, Ohio State receiver Devin Smith, Penn State offensive tackle Donovan Smith and Arizona State state receiver Jaelen Strong will be back in the green room tonight, waiting to hear their names called.

All six seem likely to go in the second round, although a wait into the third round is possible. It seems unlikely that any will last beyond the third round and have to stay in town on Saturday.

Of the six, Gregory will be discussed the mosttoday. Once considered a Top 10 pick, Gregory’s stock plummeted after he failed a marijuana test at the Combine and weighed in at a skinny 235 pounds. There’s also talk that many teams have removed Gregory from their draft boards entirely because of unspecified “issues.” Gregory has great talent, but NFL teams are steering clear of him.
