It’s a bit anticlimactic, coming four months after the fact. But it can never be taken away -- although it can, in theory, be lost, stolen, or sold on eBay.

“To have it so close, it finally hit me, what exactly we accomplished together,” linebacker Terrell Suggs told the Baltimore Sun. “It didn’t take a year. It took me 11 years to get it. It took Coach [John] Harbaugh [from] when he got here in 2008. It finally paid off, all that blood given. There’s not a word that describes what I’m feeling and all the emotions. . . . The journey was long but it was worth it. But I will tell you this, I damn sure want to feel like this again.”
It took Lewis a dozen years to get another one, and it won’t be easy for the Ravens to do the same any sooner. Primarily because it’s never easy in the modern NFL, where the teams are bunched together more tightly than ever and we see few blowout wins in the postseason.
The key is to contend. And the Ravens have contended every season since Harbaugh arrived, with five straight playoff appearances. If they can continue that string, they will be in the conversation for more jewelry.
