In a somewhat surprising move Saturday, the Redskins waived running back Keiland Williams and signed wide receiver Brandon Banks from the team’s practice squad.
We’re surprised if only because that leaves Washington with only three running backs: Clinton Portis, Ryan Torain, and recently picked up special teamer Chad Simpson.
This shows the growing confidence Mike Shanahan has in Torain, who looked good carrying the load for the Redskins in the second half of last week’s game. Translation: go get Torain if he’s still out there in your fantasy league.
