The Saints will be able to keep Ryan Griffin around after all.

The club will re-sign Griffin, a second-year quarterback from Tulane, to their practice squad, Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate reported Tuesday.

The Saints waived Griffin Tuesday to make room for kicker Shayne Graham. However, Griffin cleared waivers, allowing New Orleans to re-sign him.

As a member of the Saints’ practice squad, Griffin can be signed to another club’s active roster if he so chooses.

The 24-year-old Griffin appeared in all four exhibition games for New Orleans, throwing for 530 yards with three TDs and one pick. He fumbled twice but didn’t lose either one.

Veteran Luke McCown is the lone backup quarterback on the Saints’ roster.
