Report: Vote on Seahawks sale is expected at one-day league meeting on Aug. 26

We already know who is set to buy the Seahawks for a record $9.612 billion.

Now we know when the transaction is likely to be approved by NFL ownership.

Via ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL notified teams on Tuesday that it has set a one-day meeting for Wednesday, Aug. 26 in Atlanta. It’s expected that the vote on the Seahawks’ ownership transaction will occur on that date, pending the review from the Finance Committee.

Schefter adds there will be “an update on football and business matters related to the upcoming season” as well.

The new ownership group of the Seahawks is led by Vinod Khosla. Khosla’s wife, Neeru, is reportedly set to serve as controlling owner of the team while the couple’s son, Neal, is also expected to have a significant leadership role in the group.
