Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has landed in Tampa, multiple media outlets reported on Sunday.
Also, we have an interesting nugget from Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune: Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano was to pick up Revis at the Tampa International Jet Center, a corporate-jet facility operating near Tampa International Airport.
“Right out of the Childress Playbook,” NFL Network’s Rich Eisen joked on Twitter.
In 2009, as Brett Favre joined the Vikings, then-Minnesota head coach Brad Childress picked up the quarterback from the airport in either a famous or infamous moment for such rides, depending upon your viewpoint.
The Buccaneers have received permission to give Revis a physical as Tampa Bay tries to complete a trade for the standout cornerback. The deal is agreed upon, with the physical the last step, ESPN reported Sunday.
UPDATE 4:06 p.m. ET: NFL Network’s Jeff Darlington reports Revis is now at the Buccaneers’ facilities.
