Last year in August, Cardinals running back Ryan Williams suffered a torn patellar tendon, which knocked him out for the entire season.

This year, he’s back. And on Friday night, the second-round pick from Virginia Tech made his 2012 debut in a game (even though, you know, it wasn’t really a game).

Still, it looked like a game. And Williams looks like he’s got game, generating 25 yards on five carries (if anyone needs a calculator to figure out that’s an average of six yards per carry, I feel sorry for you).

Williams also scored a touchdown. And he’ll undoubtedly get plenty of chances to show what he can do in real games, especially with Beanie Wells still dealing with a lingering knee problem.
