The Seahawks have strengthened their numbers at safety, promoting first-year pro Terrance Parks from the practice squad in advance of Sunday’s game vs. Oakland.
To make room for Parks, the Seahawks waived wide receiver/returner Bryan Walters.
The moves were announced in the NFL’s Saturday transactions.
Parks, 24, was signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad on Sept. 8. He played collegiately at Florida State. Parks (6-2, 218) has never appeared in an NFL regular season game, but he did play in all four preseason games for Seattle this summer.
Parks’ signing comes with star strong safety Kam Chancellor (groin) questionable and backup strong safety Jeron Johnson (concussion) out.
The Seahawks (4-3) are prohibitive favorites against winless Oakland on Sunday.
