The Seattle Seahawks have brought back a familiar face to bolster their linebacker depth this week.
Seattle signed linebacker Allen Bradford off the Cleveland Browns practice squad on Wednesday to provide additional help at middle linebacker with Bobby Wagner expected to miss his fifth game with a turf toe injury and Brock Coyle dealing with a glute injury.
Bradford made Seattle’s 53-man roster out of training camp in 2013 but was waived after just one week. He was claimed off waivers by the New York Giants and appeared in nine games last seasons. Bradford has spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Browns and even a short stint on Seattle’s practice squad earlier this season.
After entering the league as a running back out of USC, the Seahawks converted Bradford back to his high school position of linebacker beginning in 2011. He has spent time on Seattle’s roster in each of the last four seasons.
Bradford fills the spot vacated by the placement of tight end Zach Miller on injured reserve.
Seattle also signed another USC running back, Stanley Havili, to their practice squad on Wednesday.
