The Seahawks waived a pair of reserves Tuesday, releasing wide receiver Phil Bates and tight end Brett Brackett, per the NFL’s daily transaction report.

Bates and Brackett both appeared in Seattle’s 13-9 win at Carolina on Sunday, with Bates playing three snaps on special teams and offense and Brackett playing one offensive snap.

The 26-year-old Brackett was claimed by Seattle last week. He’s been active for three games this season, with the first two as a member of the Titans.

Bates, 25, has been on the Seahawks’ roster for two games this season, with Sunday his first on-field action of the season.

The roster moves leave the Seahawks with 51 players, two short of the limit. As Curtis Crabtree of Seattle’s Sports Radio KJR and PFT points out, the club has added rookie cornerback Eric Pinkins to its online roster, though neither the team nor the league announced any transaction regarding Pinkins on Tuesday.

A sixth-round pick from San Diego State, Pinkins (6-3, 220) has spent the first eight weeks of the regular season on Seattle’s reserve/non-football injury list after suffering a Lisfranc foot injury in the offseason.
