The Steelers are taking a look at a former local collegiate player.
The club has been awarded former University of Pittsburgh cornerback Buddy Jackson on waivers from Kansas City. The addition of Jackson was noted in the NFL’s official transactions Thursday.
Jackson (6-1, 180) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Indianapolis in 2012. He’s had stints with the Colts, Redskins and Chiefs.
In a corresponding roster move Thursday, the Steelers waived rookie long-snapper Luke Ingram.
The Steelers have all 90 roster spots filled, but four players -- tight ends Heath Miller and David Johnson, linebacker Sean Spence and nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu -- are on the active / physically unable to perform list.
