NFL fans tuning into Saturday’s Kentucky Derby on NBC will see and hear one of the league’s rising young quarterbacks.
After the 18 Derby entrants are saddled, Minnesota’s Teddy Bridgewater will announce “Riders up!” at about 6:25 p.m. Eastern, Jennie Rees of the Louisville Courier-Journal reports. At that time, jockeys will get a leg up on their horses.
Then comes the call to post, with the traditional bugle call, and the 18 three-year-old horses will head on to the track for the post parade to the sounds of “My Old Kentucky Home.”
Bridgewater attended the University of Louisville and is in town this week for Derby events, including last night’s Barnstable Brown Gala.
The Kentucky Derby is set to start at 6:34 p.m. Eastern.
