When Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs practiced on Wednesday for the first time since suffering a torn Achilles tendon during the offseason, the initial word was that he’d need at least a few weeks before he’d be ready to play. But Suggs thinks he’ll be ready a lot sooner than that.

In fact, Suggs is hoping and expecting to play on Sunday in Houston, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Suggs is confident enough that he can go on Sunday that his family and friends are making their travel plans to get to the Ravens-Texans game.

Whether the Ravens think Suggs is ready is a different question: The team will need to be confident that Suggs can play in a game without any setbacks, and confident that he’s in good enough shape to play after a long layoff in which he has reportedly gained weight. But Suggs apparently thinks he’s ready to go, and ready to go right now.
