More than 40 percent of the Texans’ 53-player roster was listed on the club’s Monday injury report as the club began its work week for Thursday’s matchup with AFC South co-leader Indianapolis.
All told, 22 players appeared on the Monday report, which isn’t a huge surprise, considering Houston listed 17 players on the final Week Five report. Also, as ESPN.com’s Tania Ganguli noted, the Texans had a walk-through on Monday, making the injury report an estimation.
Defensive end J.J. Watt (thigh), inside linebacker Brian Cushing (knee), wideout Andre Johnson (ankle) and tailback Arian Foster (hamstring) were among 11 players sitting out Monday. However, Watt, Cushing, Johnson and Foster played with those ailments last week.
New additions to the report who didn’t practice Monday were reserve tailback Alfred Blue (knee) and outside linebacker Ricky Sapp (hamstring).
Another notable name on the report was quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (calf), but he was listed as a full walk-through participant.
The Colts and Texans are both 3-2 and two games ahead of third-place Tennessee (1-4).
