Warren Sapp accused of biting finger, stepping on head of girlfriend

If there was ever any chance that Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp would be returning to a TV screen or any media company at any point in the near or distant future, there probably isn’t now.

Sapp, fired by NFL Network after being accused of soliciting prostitution and then assaulting said prostitutes, is now accused of assaulting his long-time girlfriend (who apparently remained his girlfriend despite Sapp’s indiscretion with a pair of prostitutes). According to TMZ, Sapp has been charged with three counts of domestic violence following an April 28 incident at at Las Vegas resort.

Per TMZ, the police report alleges that Sapp: (1) throwing a margarita in her face"; (2) allegedly grabbing her “by the arm or purse and violently pulled on her . . . nearly taking her down to the ground"; (3) “biting her middle finger"; (4) throwing a belt at her; and (5) stepping on her face while wearing a pair of sandals.

She allegedly emerged from the incident with multiple injuries, including a checkerboard imprint on her temple, apparently from the sole of Sapp’s sandal.

He’s due in court on July 23, and he faces up to 18 months in prison. He likely now has been exiled from any type of high-profile media employment for a lot longer than that -- possibly for the rest of his life.
