Back when the Vikings were, you know, good, their players repeatedly were winning NFC player-of-the-week awards. Now that the Vikings may be on the verge of becoming good again, their players are winning NFC player-of-the-week awards again.

Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes has won his first NFC defensive player of the week award, for his role in helping the Vikings win their sixth game of the season -- the team’s first win in six weeks.

He turned the game around with a 14-point swing that came from a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown, the longest interception return for a touchdown.

Rhodes won’t have time to rest on his laurels; Rhodes and the Vikings will play again on Thursday against the Lions.
