Sports Illustrated’s John Shipley believes the Jaguars could target a tight end in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Shipley refers to Jaguars starting TE Brenton Strange as “maybe the most underrated tight end in the entire NFL” and says the team knows “just how important he is to everything they do.” Sounds like Strange’s role is safe. Shipley believes TE Quintin Morris could have true TE2 potential, but Morris caught just 6-of-7 targets for 55 yards and one touchdown after signing with the Jaguars in free agency last year. His position on the depth chart sounds less secure. Strange can be viewed as a low-end TE1 candidate at this time.
  • JAC Tight End #80
Jaguars agreed to terms with TE Quintin Morris.
Morris appeared in 14 games for the Jags in 2025. He totaled six catches for 55 yards and a single score. Morris is primarily a blocker and also contributes on special teams. He’ll be back in Jacksonville for 2026.
  • JAC Linebacker #0
Jaguars ruled out LB Devin Lloyd (calf) and TE Quintin Morris (groin) for Week 7 against the Rams.
Both players will not travel to London after being ruled out, with Lloyd’s absence creating a substantial hole to fill in the defensive interior for the Jaguars. Ventrell Miller was tasked with additional snaps following Lloyd’s departure in Week 6 and stands as the likeliest player to step into the vacated role.
  • JAC Wide Receiver
Jaguars signed WR Eric Ezukanma to their practice squad.
After three years with the Dolphins that yielded just five total games on the active roster, Ezukanma has taken his talents to Atlantic Beach. Joining Ezukanma on Jacksonville’s practice squad are: WR Chandler Brayboy, OL Jerome Carvin, LB Branson Combs, QB Seth Henigan, TE Patrick Herbert, RB Ja’Quinden Jackson, OL Ricky Lee, CB Keni-H Lovely, TE Quintin Morris, DB Jabbar Muhammad, DL Keivie Rose, DB Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig, WR Dorian Singer, OL Sal Wormley and DL Matt Dickerson. It’s a strong collection of names and we definitely didn’t do this blurb just to point out that Keni-H Lovely is a great manga.
  • FA Tight End #45
    Jaguars released TE Quintin Morris.
The blocking tight end couldn’t unseat Johnny Mundt or Hunter Long on the tight end depth chart, but he should have a chance to find a spot elsewhere this season. The Jaguars also released: OL Tremayne Anchrum, WR Trenton Irwin, S Daniel Thomas, and QB John Wolford. They waived TE Shawn Bowman, WR Chandler Brayboy, WR Cam Camper, DL James Carpenter, OL Jerome Carvin, DE Myles Cole, LB Branson Combs, TE John Copenhaver, DE Ethan Downs, OL Javon Foster, RB Kevin Harris, QB Seth Henigan, TE Patrick Herbert, RB Ja’Quinden Jackson, DL Jordan Jefferson, DL Tyler Lacy, WR Darius Lassiter, OL Ricky Lee, CB Keni-H Lovely, DE Jabbar Muhammed, LB Chad Muma, CB De’Antre Prince, DL Keivie Rose, DB Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig, WR Dorian Singer, DB Doneiko Slaughter, DB Aydan White and OL Sal Wormley.
  • JAC Tight End #85
Jaguars signed TE Quintin Morris, formerly of the Bills, to a one-year contract.
Morris is purely a blocking tight end. He caught just 15 passes during his three years with the Bills, though he did manage to find the end zone three times. Morris will back up Brenton Strange in Jacksonville.
  • FA Tight End #85
Free agent TE Quintin Morris is visiting with the Lions on Tuesday.
Non-tendered by the Bills after three seasons, Morris is a blocking tight end that could challenge Shane Zylstra and Brock Wright for snaps in Detroit. The Bills reportedly had interest in bringing him back at a lower figure than his tender number earlier in March. It’s not surprising that Morris, 26, has drawn outside suitors.
  • FA Tight End #85
Bills did not tender restricted free agent Quintin Morris, making him a free agent.
Morris has 15 catches for 146 yards in three years with the Bills as (mostly) a blocking tight end. Ian Rapoport reports that the Bills would still like him to return, but didn’t want to pay him up to his tender amount. Morris will get a chance to hear from other suitors now that he’s a free agent.
  • BUF Tight End #85
Quintin Morris caught 3-of-4 targets for 20 yards in the Bills’ Week 18 loss to the Patriots.
The Bills were resting almost all of their starters, so it was Morris who got all the tight end snaps with both Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox on the bench. Morris figures to go back to his bench role for the postseason.
  • BUF Tight End #85
Bills re-signed TE Quintin Morris to a one-year contract.
Morris was an ERFA so his only choice was to come back to the Bills. Buffalo’s TE3 only caught two passes for 26 yards and one touchdown in 2023 but took the field for a whopping 312 special teams snaps. His low receiving output also hides a notable role as a blocker on offense. Morris isn’t a fantasy option for 2024 but remains a versatile real-life option for the Bills.
