    Broncos released WR Phillip Dorsett.
Dorsett joined the Broncos as a member of their practice squad last August and failed to record a catch in either of the two games he appeared in. Dorsett has caught just 27 passes for 367 yards and one touchdown since 2021 and has bounced around four different teams over that span. The 31-year-old speedster could catch on with another team ahead of training camp, but he won’t be expected to make much of an impact wherever he lands. In addition to Dorsett, the Broncos also released defensive tackle Rashard Lawerence.

Cardinals selected LSU DT Rashard Lawrence with the No. 131 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Lawrence (6’2/308) was a three-year captain and starting defensive lineman at LSU who earned second-team All-SEC honors as a senior. He totaled 2.5 sacks and 6.0 TFLs during the Tigers’ National Championship campaign, though he had better production as a junior (4.0 sacks, 10 TFLs). He looks the part and has the strength to fill rushing lanes, but he has an injury history and is a 31st percentile adjusted SPARQ athlete with awful agility scores. Lawrence will need to turn his on-field energy into better technique to be an NFL contributor. Until then, he’ll hope for rotational work as a run-plugging backup.

NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein compares LSU DL Rashard Lawrence to Houston Texans DL Carlos Watkins.
Lawrence (6'3/317) was a heralded recruit out of Monroe, LA who was rated as the fifth best DT prospect in the country and second-best player out of the state of Louisiana in 2016. He was awarded second-team All-SEC status as a senior during the LSU national title run. Lawrence has a high motor, plays with toughness and relentlessly competes up until the whistle. Zierlein writes Lawrence “needs to play with better control of his feet and motor to improve consistency and balance at the point of attack.” He has a tendency to play too upright at the point of attack and needs to work on his footwork. Injuries nagged Lawrence throughout his career which could limit his effectiveness. He is expected to be a UDFA/late-Day 3 selection.

LSU senior DE Rashard Lawrence was tagged as “very doubtful” by LSU HC Ed Orgeron in his Tuesday press conference.
Lawrence (6'3/317) was named to the pre-season All-SEC team and accounted for 10.5 TFL for the Tigers last season as their starting Right End. Lawrence was injured in LSU’s Week 2 victory over Texas and it is unknown what the injury is since LSU has not disclosed that information to the public yet. LSU is on bye before taking on Utah State at home next week.
  • FA Nose Tackle
LSU senior DE Rashard Lawrence (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt.
Lawrence (6'3/317) sustained an undisclosed injury against Texas in Week 2 and did not play in last Saturday’s win over Northwestern State. Just when the senior lineman will be ready to return is an unknown at this juncture. Breidan Fehoko and Neil Farrell are potential replacement options for regular starter Lawrence, per this week’s depth chart.
  • FA Nose Tackle
LSU HC Ed Orgeron said that senior DT Rashard Lawrence (undisclosed) will not be taking part in practice this week.
Lawrence (6'3/317) was injured in this past Saturday’s thrilling win over Texas. While Coach O and staff are keeping him out of practice this week, it should be noted that the senior has not yet been ruled out for the team’s Week 3 date with Northwestern State. Given the opponent, here, LSU can play things cautiously with Lawrence in the short term.
  • FA Nose Tackle
LSU senior DT Rashard Lawrence will miss spring practices after undergoing knee surgery.
Lawrence is expected to return in time for the season. The 6-foot-3, 317-pound tackle was one of the most productive defenders for the Tigers in 2018, and many had him projected as a top 100 pick this year before he decided to return to the school for his senior season. He left the Fiesta Bowl with an undisclosed injury -- worth noting he was the Defensive MVP of that game -- but it’s not known if this injury is related.
  • FA Nose Tackle
LSU junior DT Rashard Lawrence has left the Fiesta Bowl against UCF with an undisclosed injury.
It’s possible Lawrence is cramping up, but he looked like he was in considerable pain after UCF scored a touchdown with just about two minutes left in the game. He’s been a monster for LSU today, getting into the backfield with ease and making several tackles for loss. Until we know more, he’s questionable to return.

LSU junior QB Brandon Harris indicated that true freshman DT Rashard Lawrence has impressed him with his maturity and mindset.
“Rashard — he’s a great player,” Harris said. “What I like about him is he’s really smart and more business-minded and understands what he has to get done, and he’s very mature for his age.” The gunslinger called Lawrence a “leader” and a “great guy.” A five-star member of the 2016 recruiting class, the 6-foot-3, 309-pounder ranked as ESPN 300’s No. 12 overall prospect for that cycle. Scout.com has praised his “quickness and violence.”

LSU HC Ed Orgeron said that sophomore DT Rashard Lawrence “is a starter now.”
“He solidified that position. Along with being a starter, he has a 4.0 grade point average, one of the top players in the state. I’m excited about him,” Orgeron said of the 6-foot-3, 309-pounder. He was a five-star recruit for the 2016 cycle and ranked as ESPN’s No. 12 overall prospect in the class. SEC Country’s Oliver Connolly sees Lawrence as a potential breakout candidate for the coming season, writing that he “looks the part of a future first-round pick.” During limited action as a true freshman, Lawrence registered six tackles and a sack.
