Giants announced that CB Rodarius Williams has a torn ACL and his season is over.

Williams had been given some “get your feet wet” snaps at outside corner over the past three games while not being a part of the main defense, and did not look particularly good in them while compiling a 41.6 PFF coverage grade over 50 snaps. Williams will likely cede the remainder of his snaps to nickel Julian Love, and 2020 fourth-rounder Darnay Holmes will take over fourth CB duties.

Giants selected Oklahoma State CB Rodarius Williams with the No. 201 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Williams (6'0/189) plays with the same mean streak as his younger brother, Cleveland Browns CB Greedy Williams. As a four-year starter at Oklahoma State, Williams never quite made the leap to stardom or picked up many accolades, but he provided quality cornerback play in a conference ripe for explosive passing. Williams plays with an aggressive, gambling style that benefitted him as often as it bit him. While the aggression is admirable, Williams often gets too sloppy with his footwork and press technique. Considering Williams does not have elite athletic tools to make up for those losses, he can get burned on some ugly reps from time to time. Williams would be best in a press scheme, with the hopes that he irons out his technique over his first couple seasons.
